The Java black '03 RR I just bought appears to have a good case of buffer burn on the sides. Anyone know of any way to undo, cure, repair, or at least hide a good case of buffer burn? One detailer says he can try with a couple hundred $$ & 4-5 hours.
Once it's burned, is it shot?

Dry using some Scratch Dr. by Nu View, I think you may be surprised, after that then hand apply a coat or two of a good wax.

Just had my epsom green DII done, had some pretty bad marks. The body guy did it for me as a favor and he said to wax it and it'll cover up. I was pretty skeptical, but i bought some mothers carnuba cleaner paste wax and all of the swirls are gone. I'm sure once the wax starts to wear off they'll re-appear, but that's good reasonto wax every few months.

 

Thanks for the tip. I still haven't gotten around to working on it. It showed really bad after putting a coat of Zano Brothers polish on it, which has been the best polish products I've found. Maybe too good in this case. I've also read that the polishes for specific colors works well too. I'll look for the Scratch Dr. first & give that a try. I do have some Mothers that came with my (Mother's) clay bar kit; maybe I'll clay bar it first.
I knew I'd regret buying a black rover.

ya the color waxes cover alot you probably will get it out

 

Your paint is actually in need of correction. There are a lot of products that you can use that will hide the swirls, but as soon as it wears off they will show up. So your best bet is to buff them out and then put a product on that will protect the paint. You already have Zaino, so your ahead of the game already. If done properly the truck will look great.
If you are not familiar using a rotary then do not do that part yourself. Have a professional remove the swirls for you and then take it from there.
Now if the paint is actually burned and is bubbled up then you cant bring it back. But you could take it off road and add some more scratches, and by doing so you will have so much fun you will forget all about you paint.
