Default Mother's Back to Black

The black plastic trim on my 06 LR3 was looking a little gray with some scuff marks and what looked like oxidation. I bought some Mother's Back to Black after reading some reviews online elsewhere. It worked great; just rub in and follow directions. I had to re-apply a dew times on some of the more faded parts. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Relatively cheap and easy. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to bring new life to older trim.

Mother's Back To Black is honestly quite a worthless product.

Buy this, or the 3M brand equivalent and do the job only once, and properly.

Since it's been a while from the last post, has the bondo bumper black turned grey and chalky like back to black does?

No, they are not even the same type of product.

Default Another option

So, another alternative to the Bondo is Adam's Super VRT Tire & Trim Dressing. I use it on the rubber trim of my 335 (used it on my '05 WRX), and used it to restore the plastic/rubber on my D1 when I got her. Granted it took a few coats to "rehydrate" the grey and dried plastic bits, but used less than 1/4 of the bottle and it still looks pristine. Made sure to use it on my snorkel when I got it, and nothing sticks to it.

Again, I can't speak specifically about the other products mentioned...but the Adam's is no joke.

I agree Mothers Back to Black is basically just gooey armor all. It only glosses relatively black trim and then it lasts about 3 days to a week.

Default The One And Only Permanent Solution

If you want to permanently turn your bumpers and trim back to black there's only one solution... the one and only, original Bumper Black. It's the easiest to use, least expensive, and the only one that will last forever. You will never have to use anything else or re-apply Bumper Black. Once you put it on you're good for as long as you own your vehicle even if it's a hundred years!

Bumper Black - A Permanent Solution To Faded Black Bumpers And Trim

I've been a professional detailer for 40 years and everything else I've ever found only lasts a few days to a few weeks to a few months. Most of them even tell you that on the packaging.
