Default $1.00 D1 upgrade

Found a pair of lights at a garage sale for a $1.00. Cut the plastic grill off, cleaned the housing and painted the reflective cone blue. Of course these are only for show though. Still not bad for $1.00. Also installed the hood pins, nice feature.

How did you install the hood pins? How do they look? I have a set sitting in the garage that I need to install.

There is an already existing hole at the location I put mine in on the hood. Used a couple larger washers. The pins are for show too. They are not long enough to serve the real purpose. Looks good though. I would say to get them to actually work, one would need to rivet a piece of steel stock over the headlamps. This plate of steel would work to secure the pins. But I would try to find pins at least two inches longer than stock hood pins.

So you're not wiring the lights?
