Default {Noise} CAT

So my CAT is making noise whenever I start my car and idle. Just a useless thread. Can I please take the CAT off! But seriously..it's kind of embarrassing when the car runs great, then you hear this squeaking sound from the inside. When you step outside it's even louder and it's obviously coming from underneath Claire and looks to be the CAT.

Can you remove your cats?
Yes. Unless you have emissions testing in your state.
Can it be replaced fairly cheap?
Yes.
~$70 plus welding. (2.5" inlet and 2.5" outlet)
www.autozone.com
Also talk to your local muffler shop.
You just want a universal cat, ideally you want 2, one for each side.
But if money is tight you can do one at a time.

Use what ever size replace is needed to fit your pipes, most likely 2.5"
FOR THE AGE OF THE TRUCK, I WOULD REPLACE BOTH, HOW MUCH ARE THEY ASKING FOR THEM?

As far as most states go, it only applies to model 96 and later.

Autozone has a Magnaflow Cat for $80, but it is a 2" inlet and outlet. So it won't fit?
Anything else is $400+

I am betting you made the #1 mistake when asking for parts for your Land Rover...you told them it was for a Land Rover...

Universal fit, 2.5" inlet/outlet.

Well yeah.. that's usually what I would think I would ask for right? haha

And um.. that says 2.25" inlet and outlet. Aren't I supposed to be looking for a 2.5" I&O?
