actually Volvo's are where I make my living, parts and sales. I bought the disco from a mechanic friend and the only reason I tried to fix it was because it was standard shift. They do have there issues but I enjoy driving it and the fw times I have been off road it has been truly amazing. I am looking for a rust free body to put onto mine in the future. How did you make out with your tach issue I pulled the wire off of mine which gives it it's signal but I could find no power at all .the wire is white.

ahh.... so you're getting 22 miles per Canadian gallon! That'll make the difference for sure. Still to compare apples/apples on this board, you're getting 18.2 mpg (U.S.). That's what most folks will use as a comparison to their own experiences.
