Default 1995 LR Disco 1 fuel issue.

Im having problems with my Disco 1. it began when my son went to start his car after sitting an hour or two from driving home from school (a 10min drive) the next morning he tried it and it started right up. this happened about 3 times in about a month. well it finally just wouldn't start.

I can not hear the fuel pump when i turn the key in position 2
I have hit the reset fuel button on the firewall
Fuel relay fuse is good
changed the fuel filter
The car will start if i spray starting fluid down the intake
I changed the pump relay in the fuel pump using Airtex E3270 and ts7 strainer. still cant hear the pump turn on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Fuel pump should draw about 5 amps through the wires that go thru that inertia switch. If there is no power drain, then maybe no voltage. Of course you can test with a pressure gauge on the passenger side fuel rail, would expect 32-34 psi with pump running.

Got 12 volts at the pump connector in the rear?

Update, Im not getting any gas from pump I disconnected the hoses at pump it self and no gas is coming out from the pump. The pump is coming on for a few seconds. Could i have the wires leads crossed on the pump? Not that i can test anything because last night while testing my key wont turn anymore. So nows theres that. really close to throwing in the towel and taking a loss. soon to take offers.

Pump will only run for two seconds or so if computer does not sense engine spinning.

As far as key not turning, mine started to not turn here recently, and I just pull the key out slightly after a full insert and it works. may not with you but its worth a try, its almost like the key is going to far into the ignition on mine. took me a bit to figure it out, just had to try different positions with the key to fine the "sweet spot"

Great News!!! Smith I remember having to do the same thing to get it started the last time it locked up. After about 15mins it finally turned on. Well right before the key locked last night. I was checking why the fuel wasn't pumping any fuel. So i switched the wires on the new airtek and WTH it starts pumping fuel out. Everything is back together and working. thanks folks. Oh I have a 1995 Land Rover for sale
