1996 Discovery intermitten battery light

Default 1996 Discovery intermitten battery light
My battery light comes on n my tackometer stops working together intermittenly,
When acceleration 2-3000 rpms the the batterlight goes off.
What might be causing this problem?

Your alternator needs maintenance or replacement, quickly!

I replaced mine, but wish I would have kept the original Maretti and just replaced the brushes.

No. More likely worn out brushes, or possibly worn out commutator rings.

When I replaced mine I found somebody that was selling refurbished OEM LR alternators for around $100 with a one year warranty - but forget who
