Default 1997 disco injector controls

I am wondering what controls the injectors in the 4.0 V-8 I have a miss in mine and there is plenty of spark at the plus for each cylinder, but when I removed a few leads to the injectors 4 in fact there was no difference in the way the engine ran the other 4 when i pulled them made it run worse, thanks for any help

You have four injectors that are occluding. Have them cleaned or replace. The cam sensor controls injection timing, you'd have a CEL for it. Try some Techron injector cleaner in the mean time. Do you have any codes right now?

Throw some Techron or any injector cleaner in the tank and let it do it's magic.

oc·clude/əˈklo͞od/
verb
stop, close up, or obstruct (an opening, orifice, or passage).

Make sure you have compression in that cylinder.
And that you have spark - I think you verified that.

I have never had an injector fail on me.
Not to say they will not.
OK, so get a screw driver or a wooden rod.
Put one end on the injector.
The other to your ear.
See if you can hear it click click click to make sure the injector is moving/ firing.

They do and I have and the motor runs like crap. You'll have almost nil for compression if the injector is stuck wide open. Just remove the injectors and shake them, they rattle quite nicely when functional.

The fuel rail on these motors is plain ol carbon steel, it rusts from the inside (ethanol). Each injector has a fine screen at it's inlet, very easy to see. I wonder what yours look like? When I did my head gaskets I removed the injectors from the rail to replace the o'rings. I found rust particles in every one of them. Tapping on the bench removed all of it once dry. How long has the truck sat since the water in fuel incident?

About 4 months I guess I will have to remove the rail and either clean the screens or replace injectors , thanks
