Default 1998 D1 ECU & Anti-theft Computers

Hello all,
I have an issue as my check engine light is on; however, I cannot read the OBD2. It just says "error". A friend gave me an extra ECM (he doesn't have the anti-theft computer) and I can read the fault codes; however, the truck will not start.

This brings me to the needing both the anti-theft and ecu computers (form the same vehicle).
Anyone that haves them or can point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Many thanks in advance!

Might want to make sure your OBDII plug is good and not corroded first. I had to splice in a new plug to mine for just that reason.
Also you'll want to check the fuse.
