Hi I'm 15 and have always loved landrovers after my mom got a 04hse when I was little, it was totaled and I never got to enjoy it. My roofer so happens to have a disco for sale white 99 1 with 140k. I know a lot about landrovers and this one looks clean, has a rust spot in the door seal prob the size of a baseball. The hole itself is the size of a quarter. The guy knows a lot about them so I'm assuming he takes care of it. My mom is willing to pay the 2000 for it and in the next year I will pour money into it mechaniclly and appearance wise, when I turn 16 (April 2) I will get my permit and it will be on the road, what do you guys think?? Also any advice on what to look out for?

 

$2000 is too much for one that's rusting out. If it's that bad on the surface, it's probably a lot worse under the carpet.

 

Checked under the car and in all door jams, under neath is spotless that's the only spot I saw, how do I fix the issue if I got it?

 

Cut out the rust and weld in new metal then properly treat and paint it.

The rust antiC is talking about will be UNDER the carpet. You can't see it from looking under the truck. To check for rust you will need to lift the carpet up ie. in the front to about the firewall.

And $2000 w 140K imho is too much for this rig. Best advice is get this looked at by an Indy Rover shop. You will learn real fast that this will be the best money you ever spend.

Lol he is a family friend lmfao, and yeah he's had 2 and let me know everything about the car, down to 2 amigos, he's not trying to rip me off I offered to buy it tomorrow he said give him a month to address issues

Also in the back, on the wheel wells. You'll need to fold the seats forward, remove the finishing strip at the boot door, and pull up the carpet and padding.

 

What are the "2 amigos"? I've heard of the 3 Amigos, but that's only on a D2.
