Simple question; Was the disco 1 still built for MY1999 in the US? Googling gave me no answers. I am looking at a "99" later today that very clearly has Disco 1 door handles in the pictures.

 

99 was a split year. LR made D1’s early and D2’s later in the year

 

Yup. I have an early 1999 Disco 1 and they are pretty much the same as a 1998. When I went to pick it up, I was mighty confused as it was listed as a 1999 but the pictures showed a Disco 1 which I thought was up to 1998. The VIN and production date verified it was in fact a 1999 Disco 1.

 

Good point. If it is a D1 and you need parts, always look for parts for a 1998. Otherwise you may get parts for a D2
