Default 265/75/16 on stock suspension

I have read a couple of threads about tire size, but everyone's Disco is lifted. I don't have the funds to buy a cheap $500 lift and I don't have the tools for a body lift or knowledge. I just came upon a sweet deal for some BFG AT with 80% tread for $100. Should I buy them?

no, really not worth it. 265s are too wide for a land rover. Totally not worth it. not to mention they are too tall and just surely will suck without lift.

You can at MINIMUM get 2" terrafirm spacers pretty cheap. Or you can get the springs ome or terra firm without the shocks for now. I use OME HD with stock shocks FOR NOW.

If I did anything to lift the Rover 2" then would I be able. I'm a on the spot type person. I'm in need of tires now. I saw a terafirm body 2" for about $60 for the front or back. Would it be wise to just wait and purchase a lift kit or buy it separately. I could most likely afford it separately. Tires in general are expensive for off road use. I just saw a deal on some good tires.

i drove around for a few weeks with that size on a saggy stock suspension. it looked interesting, rubbed on occasion, but whats important is that i survived and nothing was damaged on the truck. for $100 i'd probably go for it, but plan on buying new springs to lift the truck and "enjoy" the drive.

I didn't see the 100$ part.

Yea rovers north sells the 2" terra firm lift. The tires will fit but it'll look goofy as fak and you don't want to go offroading. It'll rub.

I'd get the tires just for the deal but hold off on instalation. I'm about to do a poormans body lift and if all goes well it'll only cost 70$ for up to two inches. I should have it figured out by saturday

Default Terrafirma 2" HD Lift

Just an FYI. I just did the TF 2" HD kit with the Goodyear MTR/K and I'm rubbing on the rear fender off-road. I may have to trim the corner about 3" on top and 2" on the bottom to clear. I'll send some pictures next.

Default TF 2" HD Kit (post install)

Here's the before and after. Also, the picture where I had to bend a portion of the back fender while off-road.

Here is my 265/75 BF muds on an inch and a half maybe 2 inch spacer with otherwise stock suspension. Rubs in the rear sometimes offroading and cant turn at full lock without rubbing but otherwise no problems.

Hey kingkong and jef the Rovers look awesome. Unfortunately I just found out that the guy sold the tires right out from under my nose. So I will be waiting for Spencerfitch to post his 2" body lift while looking for some decent tires.
