Exclamation 95 disco high idle?

alright so my 95 has a high idle about 1000 in gear and 1250 out of gear it has a little miss but it runs nice. my questions are can i lower it or is it computer controlled? i cleaned the throttle body along with new plugs some bosch platnum plus. i got it emissions tested and it has high hydro carbon at idle do i have a injector stuck open? my thoery is to reset the timing and look for vaccum leaks, see if the cap and rotor are bad or damaged. also did a recent oil change with rotella and bosch filter and seems to be running better. comments and opinions please

I'd start with checking for vacuum leaks.

Everywhere. The entire intake system. Inspect all of the vacuum lines. Get a can of starting fluid and spray around and see if the idle increases.

It may be that your TPS has failed and the ECU has gone into "high idle limp mode". The TPS would need to be replaced and then the ECU reset by a dealer or shop with the appropriate computer.

I know in 96 and newer D1s default high idle is 17-1800 rpms. I don't know about the dizzy D1s.

It could just be an air leak causing the high idle. Vacuum lines would be the most likely culprits, but your truck is set up differently than my '97, so I can't help much beyond that as a suggested starting point (as has already been suggested).

When I've chased misses, they've usually been spark plug or plug wire related.

Be very careful when chasing misses...they empty deplete your checkbook and moral very quickly...
