I may have one on my parts Rover. I can see it on my scanner in the live data.

So you can see the values gradually changing or....? If you have one on the parts pig I'd plop it on and give it a whirl.

Yes I can see it changing, not sure about how gradual didn’t watch it that close. I’ll try the other one if it’s still there tomorrow and report back. Someone had also suggested VSS as the culprit. I can see MPH on the live data as well.

VSS won't matter at all in Park. If it won't rev in P when manipulating the throttle on the intake, it has nothing to do with the VSS. VSS checks rotations of the input to the center diff. No rotation when in Park.

TPS is the first thing to confirm.

TPS from my parts Rover looked damaged, so I just tested the one on there. Seems to act like it should. The signal increases voltage steadily as you push the throttle. Forgot to mention fuel pressure is around 30-33 at idle and jumps to 37-39 when I blip the throttle. Also the SRS, Brake and the diff lock lights are on. Diff lock is on whether it’s in low or high.

Unplugging CKPS makes no difference. Should it?

My son was unplugging the camshaft position sensor. It was the crankshaft position sensor. The new flywheel I installed had a few of the tabs on the sensor ring pushed inward and it knocked the little metal end off. I cranked the engine over by hand and bent all the tabs back into place and installed the other sensor from my parts car.

I can see why it took so long to find, who would guess? There is no such thing as a common failure when it comes to Rover troubleshooting..... nice work finding the problem.
