Unhappy 96' Disco 1 SRS Light Woes

Hi folks,
A few weeks back a belligerent Tesla driver nearly ran me off the road. I slammed on the brakes and laid on the horn to avoid a collision, which thankfully I did, but my SRS light has been stuck on ever since. I've checked fuses, done a battery disconnect/reset, and even swapped in a different clock spring - all to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!

To get the SRS light out properly you must use a T4, Lynx, or Nanocom. To clear the fault or view what it is.

I definitely need to invest in a proper diagnostic tool, but I actually had the fault read by a friend who owns an indie shop. To paraphrase the scanner, there is an incomplete circuit somewhere in the SRS system. Do you reckon it could be the airbag itself? Perhaps something was knocked loose when I struck the horn?

while traveling on a cross country trip running outside of Boston a maniac cut me off going 100 mph with inches to spare I smashed the brake - SRS light came on - I suspect same thing happened to you - you damaged your BRAKE SWITCH - replace that and then scan and clear the code - SRS will go off and stay off

Wow, this sounds exactly like what happened to me! Fingers crossed it's a simple swap-out of the switch. Also just to clarify, you mean the switch in the pedal box, correct?

there is a little trick to installing it - check the forum - search for step by step install instructions

Welp - I swapped out the brake switch for a fresh one, tried clearing the SRS light, and no luck. I also swapped in another airbag today, and that didn't do the trick either. I'm running out of ideas here...

Clock spring can cause SRS faults. Or verify the sensors down by the frame are firmly connected.
