need help. this is my second discovery, I just bought a discovery 1 1999. in the 4 weeks I have owned it I drove it once, a mile and a half to my house, when the fuel filter plugged up. other than that this car is in great shape. now after getting it fixed a new and seemingly serious problem has come up. I can not start it ... I have the key to unlock the doors, the key to start it. the people I bought it from said they never had trouble with it or a key fob with the buttons, keys have no buttons, unlock car/ alarm is disabled, Right.
I unlock car and light in dash solid red. land rover dealership can't do anything. how do I reset so I can start up car. Rick

 

The alarm is tripped.
Close all doors and hood, using key in drivers door lock lock the truck, unlock it 3 times.
The LED on the dash should flash and once it stops you should be able to unlock it and then be good to go.
