Default ABS light

Hey, does anyone know exactly what fuse to pull to get my ABS light to go out or to disable the ABS? The owner's manual has 3 fuses listed. Two under the dash and one under the hood. What will disabling the ABS do? I'm just wondering if it is safe to do.

It is the ABS PUMP fuse from under the hood, if you pull any other fuse the ABS PUMP will still work and cause total brake failure when it acts up.
Is disabling the ABS safe to do? Thats all relative, do you know how to handle a car with no ABS in the rain/snow/ice without crashing?
Whats wrong with yours? Have you tried to fix it? In the tech section there is a "how to" and figuring out whats wrong with your ABS.

I'm only aware of 2 ways to get the abs light to go out 1. fix the abs, 2. remove the bulb.
2x on what spike said....if you're not used to driving a non-abs vehicle...then look into getting it fixed for your safety's sake

That fuse would be #6, a 40 amp one, underhood box. If you skid, it will look like cars in movies made in the 60's.

Well, I have never owned a vehicle with ABS ever so I think I will be OK with that. I will check the Tech section and see if I can figure out what is wrong before I disable it. Thanks alot.

ABS is a great thing, when it is working correctly.

I HATE ABS, it works for crap on ice, its fine in the rain and light snow but otherwise it sucks.

mine's been unhooked for over almost 2 years now.....if it worked right and consistantly i would leave it hooked up, got sick of "stuttering" into curbs and through corners, almost put it in the ditch a couple times !

On a Discovery 1, how well does the ABS work with oversize tires?

Tire size has nothing to do with ABS.
