We should build up a supply of them to do a pool for forum members.

I will take a look at the RAVE Electrical section, I printed mine out and put it in it's own three ring binder with a Pic of MEANDEROVER under the front cover and tabbed it into the different systems for easier reference. I will take a look and let you know soon.

SAVANNAHBUZZ may beat me to it. I have a question, is that excitation voltage intended to be constant. That may be why my tach acts flaky at startup and on various occasions.

That is the main driver toward me needing a ScanGuage, to better monitor rpm's and temps as well as other live data.

all this alternator talk is crazy so check this out my dissco as a alt from a 97 4 door satern sedan swaped pully and you need to take the bolts out to split its case but barlely split it just enough to clock it so the mounts line up and your out like 70 bucks. this info came from the PO of my disco got ahold of him by finding discount tire paperwork in the glove box very helpful im not sure how or where he found this but it works and its not a small fortune.

And does not compare to the Italian made MM either.

As long as you're happy with it, and if it is rated heavy enough output which you will find out one day or another.

Do the wires mate up with no issues?
Can you take a pic and get a model number off of the alt?
Do you know the amps of it?

As long as it can handle the load, that's great.

The MM's are supposedly designed for the heavy duty requirements and are made more waterproof for things like fording and such.

We do not like little hokies, never know when they will break down but usually at a very bad place and time. The main thing is how well the output is regulated and that it handles the load. If it swings too wildly in the output you could be in for a nasty surprise. Not saying you will, but the invitations have already been sent out for a visit from the gemlims.

Have fun when it does let go. Usually those kind of cheap fixes lead to costly fixes later on down the trail.
