Default Antenna location

So I looked through the rave wanting to know where the darn antenna is. My reception is kinda crappy and thought it was a bad antenna connection. In the rave it states something about it being located in the rear right window. Can anyone be more specific. And does it have an antenna amp as well. I just want to listen to the radio with out losing signal. Thanx in advance.....

the antennas are in the rearmost side windows. mine ( a 1998) has one in each window. they look like defrosters, but they are the antennas. and from what i have read (i cant remember where) there are antenna amps in the headliner above those windows.

I know what you mean. I'm trying to get my wife to let me install a fender mount antenna on her '97 like my '95 has.

no problem kamileon, im glad to be able to answer a question instead of ask one for a change. but i dont get why you guys are having bad reception. im 130 miles or so south of chicago and get 720 and 780 AM in clear as a bell, i know AM travels well, but im still impressed, and on a good day i get Q101 (101.1 FM) in better than some local stations.

One window has the AM antenna and the other is the FM.

I have no reception problems with my '97.

I can't remember where I read this, or if it was all a bad dream, but I think I remember reading something about it being a diversity antenna system. One antenna is dual purpose AM/FM, while the other is only FM. Both FM signals are combined and routed to the receiver as one. The reason is so that you can have an unobstructed FM signal path from the transmitter, regardless of the orientation of the vehicle.
But like I said I have no idea where I read that, so I might be thinking of something else. My head is filled with all kinds of radio and navigation BS from work, and sometimes I can't remember what goes with what.
North is down, correct?

I read this as well, in the RAVE I believe. For me I think my antenna amp might be bad or I have a loose connection somewhere.
