Any chance this rotor can be saved? (pics)
So I'm preparing for this weekend when I am going to (try) to install all new rotors, calipers, pads and all the seals in the front from the axle seal all the way out to the drive member gaskets. That's $300 in seals alone. OOoof.
Anyhoo, I am rounding up all my parts n stuff and discovered this:

It seems that the bag the rotors were in somehow let in some moisture and left the corroded patches you see here. It is not bad, well, in the sense that you can't really feel any difference in the surface. The tooling lines run pretty much continuously clean through the patches, it's not deep.
I'm just sick about this - they are brand new and it never occurred to me to check the BOTTOMS - I just opened the box, saw what looked like clean rotors and put them on the shelf.
Should I try to sand it off? Scotchbrite? Just put them on and hope for the best?

Don't worry about it, it will be gone after 30 minutes of driving.
Who's pads will you be installing? Make sure to use lots of sound deadening material and do a full 2 quart brake flush when done.
