Changed the trans filter today and it shifts so much better. It wasn't bad by any means before but now you can't even feel it shift, even at full throttle. I used advance autos generic dex 3 and a bottle of lucas transmission fix.
The filter change went easier than expected, the hardest part was the y-pipe. Was expecting to break some bolts but didn't break anything. Getting it back in by my self was challenging but wasn't too bad.
I didn't remove the crossmember completely which made the whole job a-lot easier. After removing the transmission dipstick I used a mallet to push the crossmember back enough to drop the pan, then just hit it back into place after I had the pan installed agin.
If you haven't serviced your transmission I highly recommend it. I was experiencing some temp increases while going up long hills in the mountains and I am hoping that the old burnt fluid was the cause of the problem. I'll test it out next weekend.
