Back Moonroof
Hi,
I just bought a 1995 Land Rover Discovery and I am loving it. It has a few electrical issues. The first one I want to tackle is the rear moonroof because it is obvious what is wrong with it. Not so obvious is how to correct it. The problem is that there are two clips on the backside of the rails that the moon roof slides on. The one on the driver side seems good, but there are also two clips on the moonroof itself and the one on the passenger side is hanging up on the back clip on the rail. I can get a screwdriver in there and it will pop free. Does anyone know how to fix this problem so that I can use my moon roof in style? ;0)
Thanks,
Jason

You can basically do 1 of 3 things.
1. Find a parts truck with working sunroofs and take them out and replace your bad one. Either a d1 or d2 doesn't matter, the sunroofs are the same. I've done this with 2 of my rovers now.
2. You can buy new rails and rebuild the sunroof. The new rails are insanely expensive, I'm going to take a guess and say they will cost you about as much as you paid for the truck.
3. Glue them shut so they don't leak and forget about it.
Option 1 and 2 will require you take out the headliner etc. Basically a simple 1 hour job but you might as well fix your headliner while your at it. Paint it, recover it, whatever you like. I have had 2 of mine recovered for a total cost of 100 bucks at a local shop.
