Default Bad CKP Sensor Connection...??? (pic)

Have been having trouble with low idle for a few months, then recently would not start. I could get it to start by holding the gas and rev'ing to the floor, but after letting go, it would stop.

After reading previous post, i decided to try replacing the CKP sensor had same issue with (99d2). That's when i saw the connector wires... they seem stripped together, or the casing has worn off.

Could this be my starting/low idle issue ?
Are these wires meant to be separate ?
Is the black coating normal or possibly from PO ?
New connecter or splice and repair ?

Default runs with this unplugged...

I repaired the CKP wire/plug, it started, but would not stay running.
Figured i would try unplugging sensors one by one.

When this(pic below) is unplugged, it starts, runs, and idles fine.
not much time now to check the exact part, but i suspect iacv or tps???

assuming it running 'cause the ecm is using a default value since it's unplugged..???

any thoughts, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It is IACV

You can take it out and clean with carb cleaner, don't move the pintle end.

Crankshaft position sensor (CKP Sensor)
Camshaft position sensor (CMP Sensor)

Try to use same letters as RAVE, or suffer confusion with parts guys and people wanting to help.

Default Still extremely low idle... OBD Codes attached

I removed and tested the fuel pump, replaced the CKPS, cleaned the IACV, and I can start it with gas pedal pressed down. After cleaning the IACV, it idled perfect for about 10 seconds at 750, then started dropping to 200/300.

I have codes:
P1193
P1187
P0304
P1316
... and screenshots from Torque.

Please help, I thought i was almost there... :|

Well, your MAF shows zero, I don't think that's correct.

It also shows 7.4 volts. Where does it get that?

The first two codes are for the O2 sensor heater circuit, which basically means that they're unplugged or just defective.

The next 2 are misfire codes.

Default think i figured it out!

after checking and replacing most air and fuel related parts, I decided to turn the adjuster on the throttle cable... Now it has no issue idling, it is a bit high(900-1300), but after cleaning the IACV, it may take a while to re-adjust.

the covering on the cable is brittle, also i noticed if i pull up on the gas pedal, the idle goes down. Guess it's time to replace the cable.

Thanks for the previous advice,

LogicMike.

have you checked all the vacume lines and pcv lines? they can make you not idle, clean the throttle body and ports where the iac and pcv and vacume lines go in

I think your tps value is off to

maybe unhook the battery and leave it so the computer dies? think I recall that the tps idle should be like 7% = 7-800 rpm? adjusting the idle by the cable or screws will not help but make it worse as you are changing parameters

are you sure you don't have water in the gas tank? I had a similar problem and ran injector cleaner for a few tanks and it went away
