Default Base Idle setting triggers CEL

here's what I got:

1995 disco 3.9 14CUX

>IACV from the 89 Chevy Astro (autozone special)
>Months of repeated CEL for code 48 (stepper motor IE IACV)
>set the base idle again today, plugged both ends of the hose from plenum to the IACV (the one you're supposed to per rave), set it around 650-700 (stumbles a bit any lower than that)
>cleared CEL again
>idles just great at ~700
>CEL always comes back, usually after idling a while (makes sense)

Before I reset it again today it was lower, maybe ~600 rpm, but I always had the issue of starting the car while warm, would start fine, rev up for a moment as normal, then settle down and usually die without throttle input. A bit of light throttle for a few moments and then it would idle fine. This is why I bumped it up a bit.

My question is, how do I correctly set up the base idle AND get this CEL to go away permanently? I have no issues with the car otherwise. Am I forgetting a reset of some sort on the IACV and ECU values?

Thanks

I have a similar (but different ..lol) issue with my '95......without hijacking your thread, did this all start with a high idle ? It almost sounds like the ecu "thinks" you are idling high, or isnt getting the right input..??
