Default Battery swap- anti theft issues?

I had a DII several years ago and, if I recall, when I tried to disconnect the battery, my security system went off and such. Will I have any issues with changing out my battery? Re-synching my key fob? Truck not starting or alarms going off? Just want to know ahead of time. Oh, sorry- 99 D1.

If the alarm goes off when reconnecting the new battery, use your remote or key to turn it off and you will be fine.

It's not an issue on my '97 and I haven't seen that there were any changes between 97's & 99's.

I have found this page to be a GREAT resource for any locking/synchronization/immobilization issues.

Security and Alarm System Operation & Diagnosis on Range Rover 4.0/4.6/P38A

Good luck - but as Mike and Tom have said - you should not have any issues if you simply use the Fob to unlock/lock your Disco post new battery installation.

I clicked on the link you provided and read it in detail. It uses that term quite frequently in the text.

The link was about a P38 alarm system, is the same system used in our Discoveries?

I know BeCu is berlyium Copper but unsure about BeCM.

Sorry Danny - obviously that came from the link I sent.
BeCM is the Body Electric Control Module.
My understanding is that it is THIS control module that interprets the signal received from your FOB.

There is more detail here:
