Default BCM changes from 1996-99?

Hi all,
Needing to replace BCM (Body Control Module) unit behind glove box. Cheaper ones I'm seeing are for the 1999-2004 Discos. I have a '97 Disco 1. Anyone know if the BCMs are compatible?

the D1 did not have an BCM per say, just a bunch of separate modules that controlled different things like alarm, windows, cruise, etc. the D2 used a BCM.

Its referred to as a multifunction unit and its not near as embedded into the vehicle as the series 2 BCM.

94-95 and 96-99 are different part numbers and color. I don't know if they are compatible, the fuse blocks are slightly different between the break so I would guess they are not.

The series 2 BCM is not at all compatible, it is a totally different vehicle electrically

Thanks guys. I had gotten confused with interchanging terminology : ECU vs BCU and BCMs.
What I really needed was the single module, so that's easier.
