For my D1, Iv checked the u haul site for part 13486 and it appears it's discontinued. I checked AB, they have one for about $75 (with a black box) and one for about $40 (no black box). I just need a harness to plug into an old beat up pop up camper that has a 4 flat connecter. Can I buy a universal 7pin and splice or do i need that converter box? I have been searching.

Thanks antichrist, I remember reading that thread and thinking it was primarily for brake kits. Do you happen to recall that kits part number? I'm new to trailers and towing in general.

 

No, I don't recall. But you can get them at any auto parts store. Just tell them you want a light converter for trailer wiring. Some have a separate power feed but aren't really needed unless you're running a lot of lights.
Just ignore the part in the post about brakes if you don't have them on your trailer.
