Default Brake issue.....

Well I just changed my brake master cylinder and now when the brakes get warm the front calipers stay compressed.

I bench bleed the MC prior to install and them bleed each caliper afterwards. But after driving a few miles the brakes the pedal gets harder and harder and I can tell at least the front calipers are staying compressed. Also the anti-lock dash light is lit now, it wasn't prior to doing the MC. I removed both the anti-lock brake fuses but there was no change. I'm not really sure what to do at this point. It seems like it has something to do with the calipers getting hot but I bleed them so no air should be in there. Maybe the brake booster?

Thanks for any help. Hopefully I can make it all the way to work tomorrow!

try unplugging the ABS pump fuse from under the dash, this will bypass the ABS system and rule that out as being a possible cause.

There's 2 there........ I already tried both as stated above. No change, so I don't believe it to be ABS related.

I would start with finding a walk through to read the ABS codes. may not help but it is a place to start.

Good idea, I'll check the codes.

Anyone have any other thoughts?

Yeah I'm thinking may be the booster related too. I've seen leaky MC ruin a booster but usually the results with a new MC is a soft pedal. Vacuum at the booster is strong and doesn't have a leak.

I thought it was the fuse from under the hood that actually disabled the ABS system? At least that was the one I pulled.

I was unaware there was a fuse there, I will check that this evening.

yes my bad it is the ABS pump fuse under the HOOD not the dash. Good call Brandon, thanks for catching that.
