Question brake light goes out with headlights on

i bought a 96 5spd a few months ago its inspection time and my lower right brake light wont work with the headlights on can anybody help?
i just replaced fuel pump light was malfunctioning when i purchased it

You have a wiring problem somewhere. It could be a failing switch, and they are a cheap start. (always good to have a spare).

The workshop manual (RAVE) is a free download in my sig. It has the electrical schematics in it.

My guess would be a bad ground somewhere. Like OK said download the rave and follow the schematics. Might also be as simple as a blown bulb also.
