look at the rear tail light assembly, and the wiring for the rear bumper just above the exhaust pipe.

if not wiring, do you have the rear tail light fog lights on? That will look like the brake lights on. On the dash near the steering wheel. Just a thought. Rear fog guard lights

Start with the tail light assembly. I tarted with the wires and it ended up being the assemblies were melted as the P.O. put in LED thingys that melted the sockets and assemblies. much easier to get to than the wiring.

Hi Guys.
I want to thank you for the help but I have found the problem.
It was simply a single filament globe where it should have been a double filament globe.
The wrong globe was fitted and after changing it over all good.

Thanx for the offers of help.

I took great pride in handing it to the mechanic who found it out after doing some maintenance and he passed on to the apprentice who still denies putting it in.
I left the mechanic laughing a little bit but felt bad for the apprentice.
