Default brake problems

So I got the 98 Land Rover Disco I running cool and very good but now i have no brake pressure that holds.

I have pressure when i pump the brakes and that is about it. I checked the fluid and bled the brakes and it still does it. It almost acts as if there is air getting into the system somewhere.

Do the land rovers have problems with brakes usually? If so, where should i start looking?

I noticed that the grommets/bushing where the brake resivoir sits, are completely corroded, and when i bought the vehicle, it had no fluid in the resivoir at all...... is there something I can do to fix that? Ugh, it seems as if i have one thing after another on this vehicle but then again.......i did pick it up after it sitting for months.

Make sure you do a full 2 quart DOT 4 flush when installing.

Got ya Can I just open the bleeders and blow air through the lines to push the air out of the bleeder valves? One by one so i dont make too much of a mess? LOL

If you blow air in the lines, you will have air in the lines.

Either use the 2 man method for flushing and bleeding, or get a vacuum to suck the fluid through the lines. Make sure and keep an eye on the master cylinder level at all times.

well i understand that lol. I guess i worded it wrong....while im waiting on the master cylinder to get here and the old one is off and i have my lines exposed to air, can i just push the old fluid out with a low pressure air nozzle? That way when i get the new master cylinder on, i can just add a ton of dot 4 until the air is cleared out (just like bleeding them)?

Until you install the new master cylinder, what would you be accomplishing?

ha ha, ok. Yeah, that will work. You may still have some crap floating in the calipers, though. When you will it back up, I would still flush a little.
