Default Brushguard Conversion to A-Frame

I would like to convert my '98 Disco's full brush guard to an A-Frame. I prefer the A-frame look and don't need the extra protection - just need a mount for lights. I was thinking of using a cut-off disc to remove the extra 'wings' around the headlamps, grind the areas smooth, then fill with bond backed by welded or epoxy'd metal inside the tubes. So, has anyone attempted this conversion before or have any thoughts to share? Thank you.

You can usually find those used for 1-200. Might be better to sell yours and find the A frame type. Or trade someone.

Its coated with a powder coat type coating so unless you want to strip it it will look bad, plus its thin crappy material only good to hold lights
