Default Buying a D1

Sold my D2 last year. Mainly because of rust in the frame. How are the D1's for rust? What reas should I look at when purchasing?

DI/DII's, they all rust if they have been exposed to the salt roads, etc.

What will the primary use be? Daily driver? Weekend trail hog? A little of both?

Look for rust. Check the sunroofs for leaks. Has rain been pouring in for weeks, months? Any standing water,
Engine issues. How many miles is on the engine, Any major work been done, Has the dash been taken apart, any dash lights or warnings?

There are others here way more educated than I. The two that I have owned/own were well taken care of. Probably the most important thing you can ask for are service records. Good luck and post some pics!

I know the rear wheel well arches rust on D1's. Any other areas to look at besides the frame? I was hoping it didn't hae sunroofs but it does. My D2 sunroofs leaked. I hated it. I'll be looking it over real good.

DI's and RRC's basically rust in the same places. Here are some scary pics, have a look... enjoy!

So I drove my first D1 today. It was in decent shape aside from the tranny not shifting into 4th. One thing I noticed was the ride of my D2 seemed so much better. The search continues.

Coolio! Looks like a 95’ with the 3.9L.? Maybe a Brownchurch roofrack and ARB bumper. No sunroofs maybe..? Nice find.

It's 96. Has sunroofs. Not sure on the roof rack brand. I sold my D2 a year ago according to my Facebook memories. Then my 2002 LX470 got totaled by some kid in a jeep who only had his license for a week. Missed the Rover so here we go again.
