Will check the fuel pressure first....do you recommend changing the fuel filter anyways?....I have no idea when the last time that was changed. If so - do you actually have to bleed the pressure from the line. Someone told me no, just undo the nuts - swap it out...will spill a bit of fuel, but no biggie. Is that correct? That someone was a bit drunk and I have no idea how knowledgeable they are with cars.

Thanks for the quick responses.

You release pressure by that valve at the fuel rail, a small rag is all you need. Just don't switch on truck to listen to radio while you work.

Are you ready for this - there is no pressure valve...not that I can find. I see the fuel line coming up from under the truck - it runs into the top of a "canister" that is right behind the fuses (Purge Control Valve?)....then I follow the line running out of that, and it runs to the engine. There is no valve anywhere along the lines....or am I following the wrong lines?

Now what?

Edit - Never mind...found it!!!

You should pull the fuel pump fuse and run the truck until it dies. Fuel pressure will be bled off for the most part. The release valve is on the fuel rail.

OK - need new ideas. I don't think there is any spark. Remember, it died after driving it on the freeway...came to a stop - it sputtered and died, would not start back up.

I bought an inline spark tester - not seeing any spark. Think this is more likely the culprit right now - will check fuel pressure and change filter once I get it to fire...but right now - no spark. What's next? What do I check / reset?

Definitely no spark...I tried an inline tester - nothing...pulled one of the plugs - watched it while turning over - nothing. Starter? Solenoid? Where to go next....Is there an easy way to check starter or solenoid with a test light or something? thanks in advance for your help. After I get it to fire - I will work on the original "sputtering" issue.

Have you looked inside your cap and rotor?

Update - there is juice somewhere, because I was just checking the cap and rotor again - had the cap off, was checking the rotor...and got a good jolt. Still no spark on the inline tester, but definitely juice getting to the rotor. That woke me up..
