quick answer ? the ECU is getting wet ..as you know its on top of the pass side fenderwell....

long answer...in your spare time, start unplugging connectors and reapplying dielectric grease to the terminals as you go, does it quit when you are washing it ? and can you pinpoint "the area" that seems to bother ?

Well..inspected the ECU...def got some water there...so I weather proofed the ecu and made a nice plastic shield for it (put a silicon seal on the lids and coated the ecu body with undercarriage rubberized coating (insulates it and seals the gaps) but I left the two tiny factory drains open. Went through the same water crossing...and no more cut out

Thats a good idea, I've never had a prob with mine, but I silicone sealed the little plastic guard/cover long ago anyways.

But never thought of coating the ecu itself to seal it. Thank you.

I have even considered relocating it to inside the cab, re-routing the wiring thru the firewall maybe.

I thought of that, as there is enough room behind the glovebox for it. It was the problem of if the wiring is long enough that prohibited me from trying it.

Yeah but thats quite a bit of work...this took me about 30 minutes...I am going to make an actual aluminum cover for the electronics side of the engine....

but i coated the ecu with dupont undercarriage rubberized coating....rebels water, insulates and rust proof...after careful look at the ecu....water can enter from the connectors....i believe its the middle connector where I could see water build up and eventually go into the ecu...thats all sealed up now

I wish I would have taken some but the compartment is all sealed now. I don't want to do it again
