Default cassette adapter problem

i had a cassette adapter in my 96 disco and after about 6 months it started flipping sides constantly and would not play so i bought a new one and after about 3 months this one would only play out of one side. both were under 15 dollars and werent a big brand name such as sony or panasonic, they were scoshe and phillips. i tried these in a 96 ford contour and they both worked fine. do you think the problem is in my cars deck or the units themselves?

Could be either.
Run a cleaning cassette through your trucks cassette player.
If it is really dirty and it thinks it is at the end of the "tape" it will try and flip sides.

I tried using the cassette adapter and it would not work no matter how i tried with my tape deck. I ended up using a FM transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter and tuning the FM radio to catch the signal.

Well I tried another cassette adapter and no luck so I'm just goona get a new headunit. If I were to buy one off of crutchfield
Would they give me everything needed to install it without losing my amp and subs? Also how hard is this to wire? I've
Installed headunits in a dodge, chevy and toyota with no problems but I'm positive this will be more difficult

From what i've read (researched replacing my stock HU), you will lose the factory amps and you should also wire the speakers directly; meaning not use the factory speaker connections/wires because of the factory amp issues. Check out Dweb or LRRForms, there have been lots of discussions on this topic. Good luck and keep us posted on what you end up doing.

With that integration harness it should just "bolt" right up.
