Yeah, we have an admin, it is Spike. But since the D1 was built on the RRC platform, are we going to merge those 2 now? Why not add the Defender too?
I admit that there have been people confused about posts and thought that a D2 problem applied to a D1, but I feel that this may be more confusing...

I don't think anyone is being a jerk, there are just a lot of people that own both vehicles, or have had a D1 and now have a D2. I understand why they split it, but I don't think the forum is big enough to split. People come to this site because of all of the activity in the Discovery section. I just hope it doesn't shun people off...

I think the separate section for DI’s is a good idea for technical reasons.
If we need to see what is happening with DII’s it is only a click away.
My first choice for a Land Rover was a RRC, but I decided against it because they did not have air bags (until 1995). That is when I looked at the Discovery I. The BMW management electronics of DII did not appeal to me. Summary: I bought the DI but would still consider a RRC for project car. If RRC and DI joined in a forum as you said, I would be interested in that earlier Land Rover technical logic rather than the newer BMW electronic management DII’s.
