I believe the 98 D1 has 2 u-joints standard.

right... and 2 u-joints per shaft

Help please! Removing rear driveshaft... got it off no problem. But I need a bigger socket to remove the handbrake drum. Anyone KNOW what size socket that is? Maybe 29mm? I need to know for sure. I have searched RAVE but can't find anything other than adjustment procedures..

I think it is a 29mm. An impact helps zip that big nut off.

Thank you fish.. I took a shot in the dark and bought the 29mm. Perfect fit confirmed!

On a side note: u-joints look fine and there's no play! I'm hoping it's just mud and gunk built up in the drum. Crawling back under truck now.. ciao

Holy honey pig! 350 ft lbs of torque not enough to break this nut!!

I think I'm gonna need a bigger impact wrench :/

Well son of a beehive! I deserve the Dum Bass award of the forum.. that 29mm nut does not need to come off to remove the drum brake.
