Today, I went to a third Advance Auto, a new one I was unaware of that is pretty close to my house. I used their Actron scanner, read and cleared the codes with no problems. Nice crew, great scanner and convient to get to, not like the jerks at the second location. And this proved the problem was the jerks at the second location, not the scanner plug in my Rover like the one idiot insisted.

Think I will call that corporate hotline the guy at the first store referred me to when I called and asked about their scanner and told him abouit the jerk at the secnd store. He sent me to the third location.

It's all good now, new hoses from AB, no more CEL.

New Advanced Auto Location, no more jerks.

This one lists at $251 and change, but again, I know that I have saved myself well over triple that - and friends much more than that. (One friend who had an Infinitti paid a dealer over $700 for service that still did not fix his "stalling" issue that this scanner picked up and I corrected with a 20 minute cleaning of his MAF) <-- that single event has had me sold on this particular scanner.

As with any other advice on this site - "individual mileage may vary" - but, suffice it to say that I am very happy with this one!
Been super busy so it has been hard to respond on here. Thanks! I am just looking for the adapter that plugs into OBD2 DLC and interfaces with OBD 1. Kind of like a Y adapter.

Guess its kinda late know since you got the error lights resolved, but BritishAtlantic sells two code readers:
1.) TekPro 3000LR Diagnostic System. Specifically for all Land Rover models and Mini Cooper models. Price tag $1,999.95

2.) OBDURATEII Diagnostic hand held reader.$79.95- $199.95

I bought mine from the Actron website directly.

ODB 1 and OBD 2. Usually a roman numeral I and II is used. Just like DiscoI(1) and DiscoII(2)

Gotcha thanks,

But can I buy and use that scan tool? Or am I just wasting money?

I have an Equis? OBDII scan tool that is great for reading codes and gives code definitions(easy to carry, nice and small), and a Elmscan 5 for codes and live data(unfortunately, I have to carry a laptop for this one) I like them both.

I don't think you need a code reader for a 95 and older rover. Obd-I isn't much of a standard, the cheaper readers you find will only work on ford, GM, and chrysler.

Unless your '95 just happens to have ODBII, don't bother.
