Default Codes p0150, p1191

ARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!. it never ends with this truck! I've gotten 113x's as codes in the past and replaced the upstreams. I am on my SECOND set of upstream o2's the current ones are BRAND NEW (ngk 25044 or whatever). from this handy website:
Land Rover OBD-II Trouble Codes
the codes read thusly
p0150: Oxygen Sensor Cycle Fault *Codes* B U (b= bank b which is pass, U=upstream)
p1191: Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Open Downstream

after doing my due dilligence in regards to searching the forums (and ruling out bad upstream o2's) the only thing i've surmised is "tune-up" plugs and wires. I've never done em, and they were on my "eventual" list but right now my credit line to the rover is...shall we say....suspended.

Is there any thing else that these codes could mean together other than plugs and wires?

Can i damage the truck by cruising it w/out the repair or will my mpg's just suffer? (im used to that)

if the truck was worth anything i might set it on fire and collect the ins money, but if i did that i'd just have a truck with a rustic smell and the same empty pockets. womp womp. haha

What prompted you to check the codes? Is your check engine light on? Just currious. What scanner are you using? I have often wondered about the Cam timeing. If the chain and sprockets become warn, valves open and close at the wrong times which could create strangeness with the CATS and O2's. I'm suffering my second drivers side CAT failure and the downstream O2 was missing the entire shield. Just a thought that I'm heading into next. Changing out my timeing chain, sprockets, CAM, Lifters, ETC..ETC..

Sorry, the CEL is on, thats why i scanned it. I used whatever autozones stock scanner is. Im not sure, im in south philly so i cant imagine its a rolls royce scanner. I def dont want do damage the cats, but im more concerned about something like cam timing. I was thinking of doing a timing chain back when i thought i had to do head gaskets, but it turned out to be a valley pan gasket so i never got that far. the thing is sub 90k miles so im praying that it wouldnt be something so egregious.
I suppose i could START with plugs and wires right? see if it clears? Problem is i need to wait on the magnecors bc i literally am out of LR cash for the moment. Does it make sense to do just plugs or should i hold off? Because they're 20$ for a set right?

With the mileage these engines have and the fact that it is a chain and sprocket design, I'm pretty positive we can find some out of normal differences in timeing. Can't wait to pull mine apart and look. I purchased a stethiscope and can hear some amazing things going on. Still can not tell if the chain is stretched or the sprockets are warn down though. Have to visually look and measure the differences. I'm pretty confident that with a CAM change, lifters, pushrods, timeing chain and sprockets I will definitly feel the difference in the engine. Basic tune-ujp is always a good idea, at least she will run a bit smoother and maybe give you a mile or two more per gallon. The wires are a no bainer, they either work or don't work. The plugs on the other hand will loose efficiency after time. Just make sure the plugs are OEM recommended.

You don't think it could be something my motor is spitting out that's ruining the o2 sensors right?

Is it running rich?

What about the O2 sensors?

You can get the Kingsbourne for 30 something a set according to the website.

It doesn't SMELL like it's running rich. But I haven't pulled the plugs to check if theyre sooty. The upstream o2's are less than a month old. I guess I could check the connections on them. Ensure they're seated in the y pipe well. But Danny you and I both know they're not coming out of those damn bell housing clips without a little help.
