To cup holder or not to cup holder
Spike, I had the same concerns, but hate the cheap dash cupholders. Yesterday I made up my mind and installed just one. I installed it on the passenger side and I really like it that way. It's not in the way and it is in a great spot for my hand.
No, just swapping a few parts and then its going up for sale.
Taking out the jump seats and putting them in mine as well as swapping radiators.
If I can get a door latch cheap enough I will fix that, if not then I will leave the right rear door tied shut and let the next guy worry about it.
I can only work on it on the weekends and it has been raining and snowing and extremely windy so I have not done much to it yet.
I was going to part it out but thats going to take to long, and it runs so well I would have to let a good engine go to waste.

Good to know.
I have a set of the original factory ones they came out with as the upgrade. I think they were only used in the early D2 models. They are not bulky like those. Smaller and all black plastic. Don't take up near as much space.
My wife's '97 has them. I find the right side one a bit annoying for my Targus laptop adaptor, but I don't see why they couldn't be installed a bit further back. The left one doesn't seem to interfere with the use of the transfer ****.
