D1 Intermittent Cut Out Problem remedied
For those who may be interested. I had previously posted an issue with my 96 D1 Facelift, the fault being an intermittent and repetitive engine cut-out when at temperature. The source of the fault was identified by member WaltNY, who convinced me that the Vehicle Speed Sensor was the most probable cause. I renewed the VSS and I rewired this circuit through the Speedometer. The fault remained, but on putting a switch inline, when ‘off’ the fault remedied itself, which back ‘on’ the fault reappeared. (Further to this I replaced almost all other engine sensors including the MAF.) I was at a dead-end, but WaltNY convinced me to restudy the schematics and rethink the issue. Finally, on rechecking the wiring the connector (C152) on the Coolant Temperature Sensor (X126) appeared brittle and the loosened back spring had dislocated the connection. A new connector was soldered into the circuit. Now with running the truck for two weeks, the fault seems to have cleared.
Interesting is that from the schematics, I remain at a loss to identify the circuitry link between the VSS/Speedometer circuit and the Temperature sensor. Unless it is ECU software?

Many thanks for your help.
