Default D2 wiper motor on a D1?

Hello, My wiper motor died, so now I can find Disco2 motor for like $30, but can only find D1 motor that cost $80.... Can I get the disco 2 motor, cut the wires to the straight line plug, and splice them into my bad motor's plug?

Thank you!

When motor was working did the blades wipe and park where they should? If not then the contacts on the rotary gear on the motors gearbox are pitted/scored/trenched. If your the DIY type drill out the rivets on gearbox cover, remove cover and take a gander at em. I repaired mine a long time ago (sanded and filled with silver solder) and it's still working perfectly. Check fuse F16 under the dash, see if it's blown before you leap. Not sure if DII's fits so I'd dig mine out and compare first before tossing cash at the problem......

Forgot to mention...... this is a common issue on Disco's. You'll see allot of posts and other than replacing motor which is the common reply nobody seems to have the patience to fix em and it's more times than not a super easy fix.

I did tear it apart. It's shorting somewhere internally. The Coils super heat, and at best, on occasion, I'll get the worm gear to spin and move the wipers. That is, as long as the fuse doesn't blow before that. I would tear into the thing more and figure out where the short is, but don't know where to go from here. so as of now, I'm stumped.

Motor brushes or windings if it's further in than gear contacts. Check the stalk switch too, they're another fun game project but really easy to fix or replace.

I think this is the bad bushing. It's discolored compared to the rest.

Is there no way to attach an image from my phone/computer without posting it online somewhere?

Alright, there are the pictures. I think it's pretty easy to tell which bushing is bad... If not, it's the 3rd picture.
