Dash Ideas
Hey guys. I have a 95 Disco that I love and have done most of the usual repairs/upgrades.
One issue I have that I am still scratching my head on is the curling dash. Mine has it pretty bad. I have seen the kits and even have one sitting on the work bench but the dash is actually curling bad enough the kit won't hold it down and is also curling from other areas as well, front and around the air bag.
So rather that try to hide it or swap it for one that is curling less, I am wondering if anyone has gone a different direction?
I am wondering if the foam top that is curling could be removed altogether and the dash treated differently? I did this with the headliner, removed the saggy fabric and then rubber rock guarded and painted the headliner and am very happy with the result.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried something similar with the curl prone dash? Another idea is some creative use of aluminium or checker plate which would again fit the Rover feel.
Thoughts/suggestions?
