Default Day Time Running Lights

is there a way to turn on a day light running light for a D1 ? I didnt find in a search - maybe there is a specific relay/module that can be added ? part # ? location for module plug-in ?

This has been on my to-do-list too long.

What you need is this:

LAND ROVER DEFENDER 95 ON SIDE LIGHT CONNECTOR LEAD 3 PIN PLUG & BULB HOLDER KIT

that is not what I expected - interesting - figured it was probably a relay that goes in an empty port for a US import car - I think Canadian cars had to have DRL

Got the info from member fish a couple years ago. I think the parts can be found on the Rover Classic or Defender with this setup.

i'm getting info that there is a black relay specific for DRL that plugs in somewhere under the passenger footwell near the heater - the ecu does not need any changes

anyone hear this ? anyone with a Canadian D1 have knowledge of the relay ? and the exact position it plugs into ?

No but I got the info from a Landy mechanic in Canada - I am not sure what relay it is - would probably need to find a Canada landy in a breaker yard to find it - not sure if it is just a basic multi-function 30/40A black relay plugged in to a particular empty slot in US car located under the glove box near the heater that would get them functioning - i was told the black relay has a printed label that says DRL - but I have no picture

does anyone have this Relay diagram for a Disco 1 that identifies all the relays ? I am looking to see if there is one marked for DRL - might be this part PRC8714

Interesting. Always more than one way to do something. Since this has been on my to-do-list I will continue researching this with the hope of sharing info with you as we both want the same thing.
