Default Deceleration roar

Got a weird thing going. When I decel from 70 to 50 mph I get a roar from the front. It does not shimmy the truck nor the steering wheel and it does not vibrate the transfer case. It seems like coming from the front axle cause it does it with the driveshaft removed as well. It's like a grinding/roar sound-feeling. Could my abs activating. Ive disabled the abs but it did it before I disabled it.

It started when I put the hd tf springs in but since I have put the stock springs back in it. No luck. Any ideas

Check the torque on your pinion nut. If it is loose itll make a noise under decelaration and itll go away under acceleration.

X2 - the lift will change your pinion angle and could add stress and loosen the nut.

Ok my mechanic said he retorqued my pinion shafts while he changed out my u joints but the deceleration roar is still there....it only roars when you go 50+mph and you go part throttle, if you just let off it does it for a split second..and it decals fine without any vibs or grinding roar noise.

It does not make any noise when turning...so its not the CVs...could it be bad wheel bearings?

Also just FYI this happens even if the front shaft is removed so it is not the Transfer case...its coming from the front axle...more so by the wheels....no shaky steering or anything..just a grinding/roaring noise from deceleration 55+

I assume you already checked the level of oil in the front diff. Maybe you can drain it and check for metal shavings.

I rather fix the problem before it breaks. I just changed the diff fluid not too long ago
