Decisions, decisions Exhaust
Okay, I need your advice on what to do here as I cant seem to figure it out on my own. I need to replace my exhaust for the PA state inspection (every piece of the factory exhaust has an issue according to the inspection station). Atlantic British has a factory(ish) replacement that's supposed to be a direct fit for 299 + shipping at 70.00, and a Borla exhaust for 779.99 & free shipping. Does anyone run this Borla exhaust who can tell me the 400.00 extra is a good investment? If there's no real benefit to the Borla, and the factory(ish) replacement is what everyone else on here uses, I think I'll take the extra $400.00 & put it into a Terrafirma 2" lift. Mathematically, The expensive exhaust & shocks are the same as the factory(ish) exhaust, lift lit & shipping. Thoughts?
I think like you, the stock steel lasted this long, and yes, a stainless system will last longer - but is the truck going to make it another 15 years?
So the cats and y pipe are good to go?

They didn't say anything about them & it just passed an emissions test in August in Denver before moving here, so I would have to say the cats & Y-pipe are good. And good point... 152,000 miles on it now, so I don't see more than a couple years of life left in it.
Get the standard exhaust. Spend the extra money on goodies like a lift.
I have the Borla on mine, but I didn't buy it new. I got everything from Heddman headers to the hi-flow cats to the tailpipe for $300 shipped. The Borla definitely has more rumble than the stock stuff. Too much sometimes for daily driving I'd say.
You can hear what it sounds like in this video at about 00:17 when I get on the skinny pedal.
