Got the intake manifold all done and cleaned up. New o-rings on the injectors, fuel rail cleaned and blown out, smoothed out intake manifold passages (not the trupmpets), cleaned out inside of tstat housing and blanked off the throttle heater tubes. No need for them in sunny SD... Cleaned up each piston with the die grinder and synthetic non metal stripping wheel. Cleaned up block where the new head gasket will sit. Pulled tappets for inspection and cleaning then oiled and reinstalled. Front clip will be coming out tomorrow for ease of pulling the crank/bearings and installing stroker crank/new bearings. Been using permatex high temp sealant/gasket maker (red stuff) that I use on all my other rigs and harley builds. Holds up great to harley heat so I'm sure it'll be good in this case. Didn't find the hylomar you guys suggested. Not sweating it. Hoping to be done by this weekend.... Still have to go shop around for the radiator trans/engine oil cooling fittings on the GM radiator I'm using.

Looking at the overhaul manual and in the crankshaft section there's a note (in blue letters) from the brit mechanics saying that the 4.0 & 4.6 cranks aren't interchangeable? Are they phucking with us?

Hylomar permarex # I provided is on the shelf pep boys, Napa etc

Not interchangeable just means if you throw a 4.6 crank in a 4.0 engine with all 4.0 parts it won't work right imo

paasenger side head is on/torqued, both exhaust manifolds on, intake manifold gasket installed, intake manifold installed/torqued, fuel injectors connected, fuel lines connected (new o-rings too), spark plugs installed, coil packs installed/connected, t-stat/housing installed, all vacuum lines replaced, front cover installed and temp sensor cleaned/connected. Valve covers will go on today and so will the condenser fan I replaced (new motor), water pump/pulley, power steering, idler pulley, a/c comp and serp belt. That will leave me enough room to continue fitting the GM radiator. Just have to find adapter fittings for the oil & trans cooling lines, plumb everything up and will try to have her fired up this weekend if time permits...

Hope all goes well, guess if you really wanted could bypass the trans cooler in rad and used just the remote one and added a remote oil cooler

Did cross my mind but I bought this specific rad for that purpose. Just need to go to hardware store and get the adapter fittings.

The fittings from the truck lines to the rad itself. They are different sizes so I have to get 4 male to male adapter fittings.
