Default Disco 1 tire size with 2" lift

Hello All,
New guy here with my first Disco project. Purchased a 97 D1 with the intension of transforming it into a light trail / fun vehicle. So my first of many questions is: what size tire fits best with a 2" lift? I'm considering something like 265/75R/16 (31.5x10.5) on stock alloy wheels.
Thank you,
KC

If I had a D1 I'd go with 235/85-16's on 7 inch wide rims. I'd have that size on my truck if my rims weren't 8 inches wide.

245/75/16 fit perfect with 2" lift, think bigger requires camel cut

Check my thread pics with mine shows tires and lift

If you go too big the spare will not fit the bracket not sure how big is too big for that

235/85/16 is the perfect tire. Not too wide so it should rub the radius arms. May or may not require very slight Camel Cut. Will depend mainly how aggressive the tire is.

Hogwash! You would like skinny tires Brett! You need some limb risers too!

Ummmm, I do believe my tires are wider than yours.
I've been the 265/75 route, I'd go 235/85 instead.

I'm running bf Goodrich TAs 275/45/r-6s on the stock rims to really good results. They are a little pizza cutterish looking but I kind of like the look. They are great in snow and mud; never clog. Don't have the opportunity to hit the rocks much so I can't speak to that. Best of all they are great on the highway and as I don't rotate as much as I should they haven't cupped at all so no wub wub wub as I go down the road. Very happy with tread life too. With a 2" lift only required slight adjustment on the steering stops at full turn to end rubbing. <$600 for all 5 last time too.

You two, geek_IM and TOM R, got your tires sizes ALL goofed up LOL.
I'm guessing you're both running 245/75/16's??

I'm with TOM. 245/75/16 Got the Hankook Dynapro RF-10 P-metric. Been through 18" of unplowed snow with no issues, and although mud is a bit scarce in these parts right now with the below freezing temps, what I have been through went well.
