disco 1 window channel compatibility question
Hi guy's
my 97 disco has a rusty window channel.
i fixed it once with metal epoxy and repainted with anti corrosion paint, but nothing will stop the rust i got there
so while i was looking online for a replacement window channel i saw there are two types of channels
this is the one i have :
ALR8022
and this second one i found:
ALR6482
is the second one (ALR6482) compatible with the Window Regulator Assembly i got : LR006373
it looks to me that i can replace the rail part of the assembly along with the window channel with ALR6482 and that it will work.
what do you think? because both say its for disco1 94 on.

The part number you want for a '97 DI is ALR8022. The other ALR6482 is for an early '95 DI and before.
Remember to also order the Window Channel Glazing Rubber ALR8990.
If you are ordering from Paddockspares > ALR8990 | Glazing Rubber - Paddock Spares
In the USA: Window Lift Channel (ALR8022G Same Fit As Part # ALR8022 ) - Land Rover door catches\window regulators from Atlantic British

Here's the deal. The window regulators in the DI's changed, mid 1995. The same thing happened in the Range Rover Classic. Land Rover went from a virtually indestructible regulator to the one that perpetually breaks nylon rollers.
The one you need is the later style (ALR8022 ).
A bit of advice, don't bother with the rubber glazing. Buy some good sealant that will work on glass. Squeeze the sealant into the channel and install the glass. Give it plenty of time to dry. Trying to use the rubber glazing, I've seen many guys break their window applying too much pressure.

Hi guys - new '97 D1 owner here and wanted to piggy back on this window thread as I'm replacing the front DS. The window motor still seems to work, but the window regulator is trashed, rollers broken, and the window channel detached and is super rusted. Wondering if I should replace the motor while I'm at it (seeing them for $30ish on ebay). Also, should I also plan to get some better rollers? I saw in another post a link to these: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...rollers-72533/
Assuming this is all I need, plus maybe the rollers?
Front Door Glass Channel – ALR8022
Power Window Regulator Front LH Left Driver Side - AM-28144503
Thanks, Paul, for the tip about using sealant instead of the rubber...I know I had a helluva time squeezing a land cruiser window in place with that rubber..
Thanks y'all!
